if home is where the heart is, i'm far away.

2 1/2 months have come and gone. Lecture phase is over. Tomorrow I hop on a plane for Africa and will arrive in Togo later this week. The memories, the friendships, the defining and stretching moments that have taken place in Kona are ones that I will never be able to lose my grasp of. I sometimes stop and wonder what i would have done if i hadn't come to this incredible community. I am very far away from home, but i was lucky enough to spend this weekend with my incredible family as they made their way to this little island in the middle of the Pacific. Goodbyes are never easy, yet I remind myself of how sweet it will be to go home to their love in March. But for now Jesus is calling me 8,000 miles away to the Sub-Saharan, 95 degree city of Noepe, Togo. I am so excited, so ready, so anxious for what Jesus has in store. We have opportunities to teach English in public schools, work in health care clinics, deliver water filters to 80 families so they can have safe water- that's just the beginning. We are going to pioneer the University of the Nations base in Togo, and we are saying "Jesus, we are ready." We are just 25 young people who have simply said "YES" to Jesus. He's so worth it.

Kona, it's been fun, but I think it's time to head back to Africa. I'm not going there for the Africans, i'm going there for Jesus.

I will have very limited communication, but I will be back to Kona on March 7th :)
